Double Reflection (2008) — Video Sculpture with Single-Channel Video

Description

Inside this sculpture rests a video camera hidden behind a two-way mirror. I have placed it in public spaces, capturing reactions of curiosity, hesitation and disinterest. From the accumulated footage, I have edited a single-channel video for exhibition. The piece puts friendly face on surveillance culture by appearing human-sized and taking on the form of a portrait screen.
