Mission Statement:
Fast Forward Gallery is a video art gallery featuring curated monthly exhibitions on the web. FastFWD presents experimental works and promotes exchange between artist, curator and viewer.
The proliferation of web-based video marks a new era in the history of the moving image. Many people can now disseminate video quickly, cheaply and to a vast audience. Watching through the computer screen -- at home, at work and in coffee shops -- has become widespread. We are deeply interested in how these transformations affect the language of video.
The gallery invites artists to submit experimental video art works to the archives. From this pool, guest curators will assemble selections according to themes of their choice. We hope to promote both artist and curator in a vision that opens up a dialogue about contemporary video art and the web as venue for mass participation. |
